So let me just take a moment to say that love is a rare thing. It comes unexpectedly and it comes in many different forms. In saying that, when I travelled to Budapest, I never ever expected to fall deeply in love at Ramazuri Bistronomy- with a meal, that is.
Let's begin with this dish - perfectly tender pork loin that is completely encrusted with finely milled pistachios. Cauliflower two ways, beautifully cooked flowers and the most silky and creamy puree. Served with chicory root and garnished with fresh pistachios and micro herbs.
I'm going to be completely honest, I was not the biggest fan of the chicory root, it was too bitter for me personally, but ASIDE from that, this is easily one of the best dishes I have ever had in my travels. It was flaw free. It was fulfilling without being heavy and a delicate balance of flavours.
How much you ask? A plate this beautiful, you'd be expecting to pay a little up there, right? Especially considering it's Europe. Well I'm here to tell you that this food is not only mindblowingly delicious, but that is is also affordable!
This dish costs 4700HUF, or €15.6!
Now this second dish was just as perfect as the first - a beautiful cut of ribeye steak served with porcini mushroom puree and freshly cooked porcini mushrooms and sunchoke. Then, topped with fresh mustard seed and truffle jus that is poured at the table.
Like the first dish, everything about this ribeye dish was a perfect combination of ingredients for one hell of a drool-worthy experience.
So how much was this star of a dish? 6400HUF, or €21.3! For the quality of product being served, it's well worth the money in my opinion!
I just want to finish off by saying that on top off all this amazing food, was also top quality service and care for the customers. Along with ordered drinks came a seperate glass of ice (something that I was not expecting but didn't know I needed it until I had it), and as soon as the ribeye came, they asked for us to cut into the beef to ensure it was cooked to liking, which I found to be very considerate.
Overall, let's just say that the next time I'm in Budapest, I will be hunting this restaurant down, this time for a three course meal!
